Challenge: Showcase FN Herstal’s performance and precision through technically accurate and appealing visuals.
Since 2007, Miysis has had the privilege of collaborating with FN Herstal, one of the world’s leading defense and security manufacturers. What began as an early assignment at the very start of our agency evolved into one of our longest-standing partnerships.
Over nearly two decades, this collaboration has helped define who we are today. FN Herstal trusted us with complex, high-responsibility visualizations at a time when we were still building our name. That trust allowed us to grow, refine our expertise, and position ourselves as a specialist in technically demanding 3D communication.
Communicating the performance of firearms and ammunition requires balance. The impact, force, and precision of these systems are central to their engineering—yet they must be portrayed responsibly.
Through carefully crafted simulations and controlled visual storytelling, we developed a sensitized approach to depicting ballistic impact and recoil. Our focus has always been on engineering excellence, mechanical precision, and clarity, never sensationalism. The result is visual content that informs, convinces, and respects its audience.
Over the years, we have worked across nearly the entire FN Herstal portfolio—from 5.7×28mm ammunition to the complete SCAR family and the 50 cal DeFNder Remote Weapon Station.
This long-term involvement allowed us to build genuine technical depth. We studied internal mechanisms in detail and analyzed the complete firing cycle of a weapon—from pulling the trigger, to the bullet leaving the muzzle, and the gas system resetting the mechanism for the next shot. We examined ammunition behavior under varying conditions and even visited FN’s shooting range to experience recoil and rhythm firsthand.
This level of immersion ensures that our animations and simulations are not only visually impressive, but mechanically authentic.

At a time of persistent geopolitical tensions, working with the defense sector carries particular meaning for us. These challenges underline the importance of a European defense industry built on technological expertise, innovation, and a clear vision for the future. We believe that Europe’s ability to develop advanced technologies, preserve its industrial know-how, and anticipate emerging challenges is essential to its long-term security and autonomy.
Our role is to make this expertise visible and understandable. By translating complex engineering into clear, accurate visual communication, we help explain the technologies, capabilities, and thinking behind these systems. This gives our collaboration with FN Herstal a broader sense of purpose, connecting our craft to a European industry whose capacity to innovate matters for the future.
